Groundbreakers is Friday evening church for children and is very popular. It is for children in school years 3 - 6 and is run from 6.00 to 7.25pm and costs £1 entry. Our vision is to encourage, excite and teach the children to know God's love.

We start off all together to welcome the children and introduce a "Big Question" for them to think about during the evening. They are then split into two groups of mixed ages to take part in games, then create a craft item before swapping round.

We play lots of fun games incuding hockey, dodge ball and the envelope game as well as quiter games like pictionary, don't eat George and steal the whistle. Each week the children make something that they can take home. Everybody gets the same starting materials and is shown how to make the item, then the children are left to make their own version of it.

At 6.50pm the children all come together to buy tuck (so bring some extra money - £1 maximum but we suggest 50p is sufficient) before settling down with the adults to watch a short Bible based clip or DVD which is linked to that week's "Big Question". Recently we have been working our way through the God's Story clips from Youtube.

After this we break out into smaller groups led by an adult to discuss the clip/DVD, and chat about the "Big Question". We teach the children how to pray in fun and creative ways, and give everyone the opportunity to pray (either out loud or in their heads). At the end we finish with a fun and lively worship song. Each term we encourage the children to memorise a verse from the Bible. If they can remember it on the last session of the term they win a prize.
